Pippa Bourne

Pippa Bourne is Regional Director for the East of England region of ICAEW, the membership organisation supporting Chartered Accountants around the world. Her responsibilities include raising the profile of ICAEW and its members in the region, developing local services for them and contributing to ICAEW’s research into business and the economy. She has an MBA and is a chartered marketer. In her early career she held roles in marketing and market analysis within shipping and manufacturing companies, before moving on to run profit centres within a university and various professional bodies.

Pippa is the co- author of three books on measuring business performance, one on managing change and the others on achieving personal excellence and motivation. She has also been an editor of the journal Measuring Business Excellence. Pippa lives in Cambridgeshire with her husband and two cats.

Q: What do you wish someone had told you when you were starting out?
A: You can’t please everyone. Sometimes you will be unpopular but in the long run people will respect you for your integrity

Q: What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?
A: Have faith in your own ability whilst ensuring you also listen to others

Q: What is your top tip for success?
A: Always be aware of what’s changing in your business environment. What is successful today may not be so tomorrow
