Gene Crozier

Gene is currently the Executive Director for Executive Development at BlessingWhite MENA and the Knowledge Group in Abu Dhabi and has worked in the field of organisational and leadership development for over 25 years. His work as the Head of International Projects at the Chartered Management Institute allowed him to work all over the world, including the EuroArab Management School in Granada, Spain and the European Foundation for Management Development in Brussels (EFMD), where he helped develop the EQUIS accreditation scheme for top business schools. He has worked with many leading companies to assess and develop leaders and has a special interest in competency-based development, executive coaching and cross-cultural differences in leadership styles.

A great believer in the power of creativity and entrepreneurship in the world, Gene has been able to contribute to very different fields and has designed programs for areas as diverse as airline pilots, healthcare professions, management consultants and emergency response professionals.

Q: What do you wish someone had told you when you were starting out?
A: Be careful what you wish for in life – wishes usually come true, but not quite in the form you expected!

Q: What is the most underrated skill in business?
A: True entrepreneurship – most organisations give entrepreneurs a hard time.

Q: What is your top tip for success?
A: Follow your heart. Never be put off from doing what you know is right! If you fail first time – pick yourself up and try again until you get it right.
